Everyday Habits

It makes me physically sick to my stomach to see fellow human beings stuffing themselves with processed flesh and milk on a daily basis. If everyone that consumes animal products knew what it took for one hamburger to make it onto their plate, there would be a lot more vegans and vegetarians. When I first became aware of what I was ingesting, I was amazed at the horrible things that are a part of the meat and dairy industries. Dairy cows suffering from severe infections caused by the machines they are strapped to, or chickens being boiled alive. The meat and dairy industries are involved in a modern day holocaust.

I have gotten to the point in my life, to where I have become so used to being vegan, that I can’t even imagine myself ever eating meat again. I have absolutely no urge to put a dead creature inside of me. It’s almost as if it doesn’t exist. Until I pass by a 400 pound whale of a man engulfing burger after burger at a fast food “restaurant.” Then I recall images of limp animals being dragged into slaughterhouses by their ankles, and dogs, cats, or minks, having the skin pulled from their squirming torsos. That is when I remember that the world I, and all of us, live, breathe, and play in, is all for this unnoticed form of torture, and genocide.

The one thing that really gets me steaming is that a high percentage of people in the world have pets, and love their pets more than most other people, but they still eat meat. Now, I know that most of these pet lovers wouldn’t eat a domesticated animal, let alone their own pet. And I keep going back to this question, “Why not?” Why not eat your pet? Do you think your pet has emotions? When you step on a dog’s tail, does it not yelp? When a cat is hungry, will it not cry for food? If dogs, cats, and other domesticated animals can experience emotion, what then, prevents cows, chickens, pigs, or any other form of life on this planet from experiencing it as well? When pigs are shot in the head with a bolt gun, they make sounds like no other sound you will ever hear. It is terrifying, and I feel helpless to know that this is still going on today, and that I have little to no control of it.

I can’t tell you, or anyone for that matter, what to do or what to eat, but I sure as hell can try, and until every slaughterhouse, dairy farm, and fur trap is burned to the ground, you won’t see me with a steak on my fork. All I am trying to say is that next time you are thinking of buying a Big Mac, think to yourself, is it really worth it?

If the world was perfect...

Animals wouldn't be slaughtered for consumption and clothing, everything would be free and it wouldn't cost $1000 to fly to Europe, George Lopez wouldn't have a talk show, and employer's wouldn't hire you based on who you know, or how well you tongue their foreskin.

But, it isn't and in addition to murdering various farm animals for slobbering hillbillies, slaughter houses are the greatest pollutant in existence, you have to be Richy Rich to go on tour in Europe, no one will hire me since I don't have good references or a dude bro hair cut, and George Lopez is constantly yelling about chimichangas through my television.

I haven't been posting at all lately. Mostly because I am back in school again, and actually have things to do. There isn't really a point to this, but I just felt like posting after a delicious hot vegan meal at the Loving Hut with some friends.
